Background & Approaches
I hold a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) and a Masters degree in Couple & Family Therapy (CFT), both earned from McGill University. My professional journey began at a women's shelter, where I gained invaluable insights into the profound impact of intimate partner violence on women and children, addressing complex trauma and family disruptions. My diverse experience includes serving as a telephone counselor, where I deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by children and young adults dealing with issues such as abuse, neglect, poverty, and bullying.
With experience in private practice and counseling university students, I specialize in working with young to middle-aged adults facing challenges in romantic relationships, interpersonal communication, ADHD, depression, anxiety, loneliness, family and workplace conflicts, identity development, and trauma. As an integrative-eclectic therapist, my approach to clinical work is rooted in compassion and attachment-based principles, guided by a sociocultural and anti-oppressive framework. I utilize a blend of mindfulness, narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and systemic therapy.
